Every Child, Every Seat, Every Day and On Time!
It is extremely important that students come to school on time each day.
School starts at 8:25 AM
The cafeteria opens at 7:50 AM to serve breakfast.
School attendance is compulsory under state law. Regular attendance and being on time is closely related to achievement and success at school. Parents/ guardians are obligated to ensure that their child attends school and is on time.
Daily Attendance Leads to Student Success
Studies show that there is a direct correlation between good health, school attendance and student achievement.
-
Your child must work twice as hard the next day to catch up on missed instruction and missed assignments including homework.
-
Your child's teacher loses class time by having to repeat lessons for students who were absent.
-
Schools do not receive funding from the State of California for students who are absent from school. This includes all absences, even those related to illness, medical, or dental appointments.
-
When schools lose funding, students lose special programs such as music, learning technology, summer school and smaller classes.
You Can Help Prevent Your Child From Missing School
-
Creating a contract with your child to improve their attendance rate.
-

Tips to Keep Your Child Healthy
Here are a few tips to keep your child healthy so that they can attend school every day:
-
Wash your hands! Teach your child to wash their hands frequently, always after using the restroom and frequently throughout the day.
-
Eat more healthy foods! Make sure your child eat a good breakfast everyday. Have them eat less fried foods, drink less soda, and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables.
-
Sleep! Children need at least 9 hours of sleep each night to be rested and ready to learn. Cut back on video game usage and late-night T.V. shows.
-
When sick, cough into your elbow, not your hand. This helps to cut down on the spread of germs.
